Converting Decimals to Fractions

The procedure that is adopted by many people in the conversion of a decimal to a fraction is very simple and easy to follow. It even does not need a lot of knowledge in math. It requires a quick training with concentration. Fractions derived from decimals can be converted to percentages if there is a need or when instructed to do so for scholars. But all the same, these communicate the same information that a decimal has been converted to a fraction. These conversions are used because they make it easier in solving a mathematical problem. The process involves taking the decimal and then dropping the decimal point. When this is done, you then place the resulting digits to act as the numerator. This is at the top of the fraction. Then the second step is to count the number of digits after the decimal point. Then once of having the count, you place it as denominator that is the number at the bottom, in the multiple of ten. The reverse is also possible, that is converting a fraction to decimal. This is also simple and easy. One is required to take the numerator and divide by the denominator. One is required to check how many complete times the denominator divides the numerator. It is only after these rounds that one will put a decimal point and the process will continue up to the required number of decimal places. Three are two types of fractions. That is proper fractions and improper factions. Proper fractions have numerator that is smaller than the denominator, and therefore the decimal will start with a zero followed by a decimal point than other digits. With improper fractions, the numerator is bigger than the denominator, and therefore the decimal starts with a digit then followed by a decimal point, and other digits follow. Some fractions result in endless repeating digits after the decimal, and these are referred to as recurring decimals.
